Today was Kasimir's last trip. After having a big, literally bloody tumor in his breast for about a week the veterinarian sent him to sleep forever...

We got him, when he was something above one year old and gave him the name just because we liked it and only afterwards found out, that it means "The destroyer of peace". Well, that he truely was! ;)
He used his wheel so much, that he wore it out in only some weeks and after that it held a terrible noise at night, so that we could barely sleep. After we fixed the wheel, he found another way to keep us awake, he began to gnaw on a bar of his cage. Only one bar and only on one special place. My girlfriend then taped a paper tunnel on that bar reaching inside the cage, so that he could crawl through it, but couldn't gnaw on the bar. Well, seemed like this was really the only interesting bar for him, the gnawing stopped. :)

Our littel beloved furball was also known as the daredevil. Once we built the tunnels of his cage in a way, that a 30 cm long part reached straight up into the air. He really managed to climb up there and then he slid down again. That seemed to be that much fun for him, that he immediately climbed up again, but this time just jumped down and again - and again... well, we didn't leave the cage in this shape! ;) And when we had a cat here to take care of, Kasimir didn't fear her at all.. brave and tough little pal.

May you have a lot of fun with all the hamster girls in hamster heaven! We won't forget you! :)

So, I had a test today about european legislation, namely "Europäisches Wirtschaftsrecht/European economic law". Since a long time I learned for a test more than 24 hours (what up to now usually was enough) since this is a 'Diplomprüfung' meaning one of those last huge tests you have to take before you get your diploma. I learned for a week exactly and after the test really didn't know why! All the knowledge I could use today, I could have learnt easily in two days. Well, if I would have been to the lectures, I would perhaps have known the special cases, that were asked. But didn't I write two e-mails to the guy having the lecture, asking what has changed from the last to this semester? Didn't I take three unconcerned, disregardingly insulting answers before giving up? Didn't I search the unbelievably bad web site of the university to get the newest information?

People who know me know, that I don't care much about the current educational system - and that's not locally restricted to germany - that's meant globally. Have a look at the congenial book The hacker ethics by Pekka Himanen, a finish philosoph walking in the footsteps of Max Weber. Pekka knows the answer to the question for the educational system of the future(well, actually the present)..

So, I have way too much university work still in front of me. One thing is a course that focuses on knowledge representation. Doing this course was my free will, I have to choose two from a bunch of courses. Well, I thought this one is cool, it's simple, so I'll do it. Part of that course is to create a "Hypertext-application". Well, not so bad, I'm TikiDev, hm? Nah, it's not that simple. They have pretty strict rules about usability - what's a good thing imho. But my Tiki does much more than just be a Hypertext Application for some twelve pages(that's the minimum you got to do for that course). I really don't know, how they will react on things like categorization, function menus on the side etc. Generally that's all a good thing, but if they say, that it makes the interface too overloaded, then I got a problem. ;)

So, my plan is to say, that I made a Hypertext Application that is embedded into the TIncubator - and that is the truth actually. The TIncubator is meant to be a bunch of Hypertext Applications not only for representing knowledge, but for creating it collaboratively. /Open .*/ Rock is one of its project (hotbeds) and it got a Hypertext Application of its own. I think I could gain full points for this with a Multi Tiki installation. That would allow me to clean up the interface completely. But let's see what they think of it - since I didn't customize Tiki too heavily, this could be some kind of TU Ilmenau usability certificate for Tiki.. ;)

I'm going to customize the structure browsing of luciash's simple.css, make a How To Use page and then submit it.
