The blog from here gets synced to http://alexander-mette.de every hour btw. This is working since two days. But I'll have to add the comments and double-check stuff, before moving completely. The final move will be announced here - no worry. But for sneak previews the a-m.de is pretty good! ;)

The last days I haven't only been cleaning up my local rooms, but also the remote mocube-room.

There's now:

mocube.net is down for now. Let's see what will happen - I'll build the whole machine slowly and alexander-mette.de has priority right now. Go have a look at dev.a-m.de - it has the first working Tiki-blog-tagging-implementation worldwide! ;)

Normally I access my girlfriends media station just by doing:

Access Püppi's Freevo
# ssh igor

But well.. the Fritz!Box kills that! Of course! Everybody knows! No-one wonders!

Workaround to get any machine on the net
# ping -b 192.168.178.255
[select your machine]
# ssh your-selected-machine

Yeah, no-one wonders, everybody yells, amette lacks arguments for having a router, people don't want to see Linux used everywhere, embedded it is much better - yeah.........

Set up the GateKeeper again, amette!

P.S.: And forget about the people, that want to tell you, that a machine for routing and stuff is bullshit!!

.. with the Fritz!Box than with the good ol' gatekeeper.
I always knew, that it makes sense to route with a real machine. So ok, keep that in mind, amette: "Set up the Gatekeeper again - and yes: that means cleaning out the closet first! ;)"

Yes, that's the way a Gentoo system wants to be handled. I know, I know, mine has been out of normal order since a long time. And it wasn't that bad actually.
Still: Maintain often, maintain early!
It will save you lots of trouble. And though it might seem very annoying, it actually is exactly, why you use a Gentoo-system - to know what's going on under the hood...
